New transmissions typically aren’t available for older automobiles, as manufacturers discontinue production after that model of vehicles gives way to the new year’s model. Therefore, if your transmission has failed, the best option to get your car on the road again is to rebuild it. A transmission rebuild means that we will disassemble the transmission, identify the reason for the failure, replace any compromised parts with new ones, clean everything, and then assemble the parts again. This is different from getting a used transmission (e.g. from a junkyard). We do not recommend going this route, as it is just as likely to stop working for the same reason your first one failed.
